Courtney Whims is a self-published author who has been writing her own stories since elementary school. After college, she stopped writing and began a career in graphic design, leaving storytelling behind for almost a decade.

 

That changed when a deep dive into romantasy reignited her love of writing. Noticing a lack of dragon rider romances, she set out to create the kind of series she wished existed.

 

Of Flames and Fallacies is her debut novel and the first book in the Arterian trilogy. She wrote it while working a full time job and with a one year old.

 

Courtney has hand-drawn and designed all of her own covers, social media graphics, maps, character art, and website. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California, with her husband, toddler, cat, and black Labrador, Rue—who inspired Daeja.

 

When she isn’t writing or reading, you’ll find her drawing, spending time outdoors, or listening to music. She loves sweet coffee, pebble ice, and candles. She's also pretty sure she could ride a dragon after sky diving and growing up with a dad who had his pilot's license and would fly her as a kid in a small plane. (Though, much like the main character Kat in the Arterian series, Courtney has hyperhidrosis so sweaty palms might not make it the best idea)
